The story behind
Morskie Oko Yachting

My love for sailing began in an unexpected place—Zakopane, Poland, a town nestled in majestic mountains, over 1,000 kilometers from the Baltic Sea. As a child, I would watch gliders soar high above, seemingly suspended in the air for hours, using nothing but their wings and the wind. This fascination with flight inspired me to explore the mountains up close. On one of those hikes, I discovered the breathtaking Alpine lake, Morskie Oko, which translates to "Eye of the Sea."

From ancient times, Morskie Oko has captivated visitors, artists, and dreamers alike. It’s a place where lovers fall deeper in love and poets find endless inspiration.

Years later, as a teenager, I returned to Morskie Oko, this time with my then-girlfriend, now my wife. To my delight, she, too, fell in love with its magic.

Though our family eventually moved to the USA, we’ve never lost our connection to those mountains. Whenever we visit Poland, we make sure to hike back to Morskie Oko, which remains just as enchanting as we remember.

In New Jersey, our love for the water led us to buy our first boat—a 20-year-old, 16-foot catamaran. We spent countless summer weekends sailing it on lakes and along the Jersey Shore.

As our passion for sailing grew, so did our adventures. We met wonderful friends, Scott and Laurie from Philadelphia, who introduced us to the joys of "real" sailing aboard their 48-foot sailboat, Eager Dreamer, on the Chesapeake Bay. It wasn’t long before we booked our first charter trip to the British Virgin Islands (BVI)—and we were hooked!

Since that first trip, we’ve returned to the Caribbean many times, often with our now-grown kids, friends, and family.

After attending several boat shows in Miami and Annapolis, we decided to make our dream a reality and purchased our own FP ELBA 45 Catamaran—a boat we’ve come to sail and cherish.

When it came time to name our boat, the memory of my childhood and the magic of Morskie Oko made the decision easy. The name embodies the beauty and wonder we feel every time we sail.

Now, as we approach retirement, we’re ready to set ourselves free—to create new spaces where lovers can fall in love and poets can dream.
